How Much Does a Screened Porch Cost in Minnesota? What Drives the Price

"How much does it cost to screen in a porch?" is the first question almost everyone asks us. The honest answer is it depends, but it doesn't depend on mystery. Here's what actually moves the price on a porch enclosure so you can budget before you call anyone.

1. The size of the openings

Price follows the total amount of screen and framing. A small front porch with three openings is a very different job than a wraparound deck. When we measure, we're counting openings, height, and total linear feet.

2. The system you choose

A ScreenEze system costs more up front than staples and wood trim, but it lasts longer, stays tighter, and is way cheaper to repair down the road. Most of our customers decide it's worth it once they see the difference side by side.

3. The screen material

Standard fiberglass is the most affordable. Heavier mesh like TuffScreen® or pet screen costs more but holds up to dogs, kids, and patio furniture. A lot of people do heavy mesh on the bottom where it takes the abuse and standard mesh up top.

4. Doors

Most porches need at least one screen door, and some need two. The type of door and how it's framed in adds to the cost.

5. The shape of your existing structure

Square posts and a level floor make for a simple install. Wide spans, uneven posts, sloped floors, or rotted wood mean extra framing or prep work. We'll point out anything like that during the estimate so it's not a surprise later.

6. Converting an existing screen porch

If you already have an old stapled screen porch that's sagging and patched, converting it to ScreenEze is often less work than starting from scratch, because the framing is already there.

The easiest way to get a real number

Online price calculators can't see your porch. We can. Twin Cities Screen Solutions does free on-site estimates for porch enclosures across the Twin Cities, mostly in the south metro. We'll measure, talk through options at a few price points, and give you a written quote.
